Phase II
Construction for Phase II is expected to commence in June of 2014. Phase II construction is estimated at $1.3 million and is funded through a combination of grants and local funding sources including but not limited to; a Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Boating Improvement grant, CRA Tax Increment Funds, Better Place Funds, a National Endowment for the Arts Our Town grant and a Federal Highway Administration Ferry Grant. Phase II improvements to the southern end of the Riverfront Park include:
- Construction of new restroom and concession facilities
- Expansion of boat launch from two to five ramps
- Expansion of the existing marina with a floating dock with 20 slips
- New pedestrian and bicycle pathways
- Realignment of roadways and development of roundabout
- Stormwater treatment improvement, providing treatment of the first flush of the downtown watershed (no treatment is currently provided)
- Underground utilities, reorganization of existing parking and provision of new parking facilities
