#1 - North 8 and 7th Street Sidewalk project — Project: Replace sidewalks on North 8th and 7th Streets from Oak Street to St. Johns Avenue. Status: Gathering quotes and collecting community outreach. The project is expected to start in October to November. Length approximately four weeks.
#2 – Replace streetlights from North 4th Street west alone St. Johns Avenue. — Project: The Florida Power and Light Company is working with a contractor to replace the streetlights and poles along St. Johns Avenue with new energy-efficient lighting and historically appropriate 18-foot 6-inch cement poles. Status: Ongoing.
#3 — St. Johns Avenue resurfacing, sidewalk and landscape project.
— The City of Palatka is currently working on a multi-million dollar project to resurface the street and replace sidewalks, landscaping and curbs on St. Johns Avenue, west of 4th Street. Design adjustments are underway and community outreach is planned. Funding has been secured for the project but awaiting a grant agreement. The start date is pending to be scheduled after community outreach.
