As we approach the holiday season, community members who wish to support our food-insecure friends and neighbors are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at Palatka City Hall, 201 N 2nd Street., to be donated to the Bread of Life food kitchen. City Hall is open for donations weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call (386)-213-2678 for more information.
Food items of particular need are,
Proteins:
• Canned meats (tuna, chicken, salmon)
• Dried or canned beans (black beans, pinto beans, lentils)
• Peanut butter
• Carrots
Canned Vegetables
• Green beans
• Corn
• Peas
• Carrots
• Mixed vegetables
Canned Fruits:
• Peaches
• Pears
• Pineapple
• Applesauce
• Fruit cocktail
Grains and Staples:
• Rice (white or brown)
• Pasta (spaghetti, macaroni, etc.)
• Cereal (preferably whole grain)
• Oatmeal
• Flour
• Sugar
Canned Soups and Broths:
• Chicken noodle soup
• Tomato soup
• Vegetable soup
• Beef broth
• Chicken broth
There is also a great need for the following non-food items.
• Personal-size hygiene items (Like those we have during hotel stays ;)

The Bread of Life, 320 N 5th St, Palatka, is open for lunch Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and serves approximately 100 people every day.
