Commissioner Tammie McCaskill, a Palatka native, was sworn in as Group 1 Commissioner on January 9, 2017.   Commissioner McCaskill holds a Master of Education Degree and is currently the Dean of Students at CH Price Middle School in Interlachen, Florida.  In 2015 Governor Rick Scott presented her with the Governor's Shine Award for Inspirational Teachers, one of the highest awards given in education.

She is a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Society and Florida Education Association (FEA).
