Because of the City of Palatka’s ongoing project to replace waterlines in the City, residents of the Palatka Heights neighborhood will experience temporary water shutoffs, starting Oct. 2, as the project reaches their area.
The outages are expected to be brief and are scheduled to begin no sooner than 9 a.m. each day and be restored by 4 p.m. In addition, the project will also necessitate a boil water notice for the area.
Residents affected by the water outages and the boil water will have been notified by a flyer hand-delivered to their address.
The flushing of the new waterlines is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Oct. 9th. Sampling and testing of the water will start after the waterline flushing.
Pending the results of the water testing, the boil water notice will be lifted or extended.
When the boil water notice is lifted, residents will also be notified by a flyer hand-delivered to their address and on the City’s website.
Information on boil water notices can be found on the City’s website at www.palatka-fl.gov.
