PALATKA — On Friday, August 23, the north sidewalk section of St. Johns Avenue between Moseley Avenue and 19th Street sustained significant damage due to erosion caused by heavy rainfall. The affected area had recently undergone resurfacing as part of a collaborative project between the City of Palatka and Putnam County to repair and improve St. Johns Avenue.
The City is working closely with the County and its contractors to assess the damage, initiate repairs, implement measures to prevent similar issues, and minimize the impact on our citizens. Currently, there is no estimated cost for the repairs or timeline for their completion.
