Due to Tropical Storm Helene, all City of Palatka offices will be closed on Thursday, September 26, and Friday, September 27. This closure allows City staff to focus on emergency response efforts as the storm approaches. City offices will remain closed until Monday, September 30.
In preparation for the storm's forecasted impacts, the City of Palatka is urging residents to prepare for high winds by securing outdoor containers and materials, such as trash cans, plants, furniture, and anything that could cause potential damage or loss of property.
Residential garbage pickup will be suspended on Thursday but should resume on Friday if conditions allow. Commercial collection will continue as usual, weather permitting.
The Palatka City Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 26, has been canceled.
The City of Palatka’s Public Works Department will be working during the storm to serve residents. For assistance with downed trees or flooding, residents should call the Putnam County Emergency Operations Center at (386) 329-1904.
