Due to Hurricane Milton, the business offices of the City of Palatka, the Palatka Police and Fire Departments, and the Palatka Gas Authority will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8. Weather conditions permitting, the offices are expected to reopen for regular business on Monday, October 14.
Sanitation Update: City residential garbage service will continue on Tuesday. On Wednesday, City crews will collect yard debris from curbside until noon. On Thursday, all residential garbage collection will be suspended. On Friday, weather conditions permitting, residential garbage collection will resume with crews collecting from customers usually serviced on Thursday. On Saturday, Oct. 12, City crews will collect residential garbage from customers usually serviced on Friday.
The Palatka City Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10 has been postponed.
While City offices are closed, the City Police, Firefighters, Public Works, and City Water, Gas, and Sewer services will operate continuously during the storm to serve and protect residents.
