City of Palatka Announces Start of North Side Resurfacing Program
Palatka, FL – April 30, 2025 –
The City of Palatka is pleased to announce the launch of the North Side Resurfacing Program, part of the City's ongoing efforts to improve roadway infrastructure and neighborhood connectivity. This commission-approved and city-funded initiative was awarded under ITB 2025-03 Hot Mixed Asphalt Paving Services and is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The project is expected to last approximately 35 days, pending weather conditions and permit approvals.
The scope of work includes pavement milling, the application of tack coat, and asphalt resurfacing. Residents and drivers should anticipate temporary road closures, detours, and minor delays in the project areas. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained whenever possible.
The resurfacing work will occur at the following locations, in order: the intersection of N 15th and Napoleon, the intersection of N 17th and Napoleon, Bronson Street from N 18th to 50 feet past N 20th, Olive Street from N 22nd to N 23rd, intersections at N 10th and Madison, N 9th and Madison, N 8th and Madison, and N 7th and Madison, N 6th Street from Madison to Main, N 9th Street from Madison to Dead End, Olive Street from N 9th to N 8th, Dunham Street from N 10th to N 11th, Bronson Street from N 20th to Ocean Street, 19th Street from Reid to Jenkins, and N 17th Street from Eagle to Olive.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution, follow posted detours, and allow extra travel time when passing through construction areas.
