The City of Palatka reminds all commercial motor vehicle operators that trucks traveling through the city are required to remain on designated truck routes and are not permitted to use neighborhood or residential streets as cut throughs. The Palatka Police Department will be actively enforcing these regulations to improve traffic flow, enhance roadway safety, and protect residential areas and the downtown corridor from unnecessary heavy-vehicle congestion. Tractor-trailers are not permitted to travel on Crill Avenue / State Road 20 outside of local delivery purposes. Commercial drivers are urged to follow all posted signage and comply with the City of Palatka Code of Ordinances, Chapter 82 – Traffic and Vehicles, Article III – Truck Routes. The City appreciates the cooperation of the trucking community and the public as we work together to keep Palatka’s roadways safe.
