[ARCHIVED] PALATKA WELCOMES NEW CITY MANAGER BILL SHANAHAN ON NOVEMBER 4TH!!!

On Friday, 10/4/19, at the conclusion of a two-day interview process, the Palatka City Commission voted unanimously to offer the position of City Manager to William P. "Bill" Shanahan, Jr., the former County Manager of York County, SC.   He was one of five finalist candidates for the position.   

Mr. Shannahan was officially appointed City Manager on October 26th and starts his new role as Palatka City Manager on November 4, 2019..     

Bill. Shanahan graduated in 1996 from City University of Washington with a Masters Degree in Public Administration.  He served as County Administrator for York County SC from 2013 to June, 2019, and as Deputy Administrator for the City of Augusta, GA from 2011 to 2013.  Prior to his 22 years of service in various government management positions, he served 20 years of active duty in the United States Air Force.  He is an ICMA Credentialed Manager and has extensive experience in management analysis, economic development,  capital/infrastructure projects and team building.
