PALATKA — CSX Transportation is planning a railroad track maintenance project scheduled to start in the Palatka area on Wednesday, Feb. 7th.
This project will mean the temporary closure of railroad crossings, blocking city streets, which could last 2 to 5 days, although the company will work to limit the closure of crossings to 24 hours or less on roads with no easy detours.
Scheduled to close on Feb. 7th are the crossings in Palatka on Washington, Madison, Carr, and Kirby Streets and the underpass on Crill Avenue for work on the railroad bridge. Work is scheduled to begin on Lundy and Heidt Roads crossings on Feb. 8th.
A map of the railroad crossings, maintained by CSX, can be found at www.palatka-fl.gov/railroad.
All dates and estimated length of crossing closures are subject to change.
