In early July, the City reopened the Palatka Heights neighborhood park known as the Palm Bowl. This .4-acre park, located between Laurel, Carr, South 17th, and 16th Streets, had been used as a staging area for contractors replacing waterlines in the neighborhood. Thanks to the contractors, the park was regraded and sodded at their expense.
Future improvements planned for the Palm Bowl include the addition of a dog park, a walking trail, and picnic tables. These enhancements will be partially funded by a $50,000 grant from the State of Florida.
The reopening of the Palm Bowl marks a significant step in the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance and serve our community. We look forward to seeing residents enjoy the new and improved park facilities.
