After serving as interim City manager since September, Palatka’s finance director, Marcia Carty, has officially taken the helm as the new city manager. In a unanimous vote last month, the Palatka City Commission offered Carty the position, recognizing her leadership, broad professional background, and commitment to moving the City forward. Carty, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) hired by the City as finance director in 2023, will also work toward her accreditation with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) while guiding Palatka’s future.
